Second ZIM-Network Meeting in Düsseldorf

The ZIM-Network PerzPektive has met for the second time on November 9^th and 10^th in Düsseldorf. The network is supported by the German federal ministry for economy and energy within its grant program of ZIM – central innovation program SME. The start of phase two of the network is scheduled for the spring 2017. During the meeting new project ideas have been developed and potential new network partners have introduced themselves.

 

Joint Collaboration on Innovative Technical Solutions in the ZIM-Network

The meeting began with a joint dinner and has been continued with a joint workshop. There was so much to talk about, that there hardly wasn’t enough time for it all! During the meeting, the participants have developed many new project ideas and have talked about the second phase of the ZIM-network. There are 7 companies, 5 research facilities as well as the Johanniter Unfallhilfe, which are jointly working on technical solutions for people with one or multiple disabilities in their perception, communication and movements. The in February 2016 established network is also active in the field of ambient assisted living or age-appropriate assistant systems. The management of the ZIM-network is done by DORUCON – DR. RUPP CONSULTING GmbH . In 2017 the network shall enter into phase 2. The network remains open for potential new entrants.

Application of Techniques for Tnnovation Management and for the Development of Business Models during the ZIM-Network Meeting

For the work within the network certain techniques of innovation management and business model development were used, such as SWOT and creativity techniques. The participants have given a positive feedback regarding the attained work results: “I am looking forward to Phase 2.” “The set goals have been achieved.” “We are very satisfied with the management of the network.”

 

Introduction of new potential partner for the network

During the meeting potential new partner for the network have introduced themselves by giving a short presentation about the company and their competencies. These presentations were followed by a discussion. They too have emphasized the chances which stem from a participation with the ZIM-network PerzPektive: “We have obtained a good idea of what the network does.” “Especially the professional and swift leadership of the network management has left us with a good impression.”

 

Further ZIM-Projects are Planned

Currently there have been four Research and Development projects, for which currently grant applications are being submitted. New ideas for further projects have been discussed during the meeting. Out of these ideas, new project groups have been established and the project ideas have been more specified. These projects focus on the development of specific solutions for challenges in rehabilitation processes, for home automation, for assistant systems for people with disabilities and for ambient assisted living.
